Linda Jaubert

Melville - Funeral services for Linda Faye Burleigh Jaubert will be held on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel in Melville.  Reverend Father Laurent De Prins will conduct the funeral service.  Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery in Port Barre, La.  Visitation will be held in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Melville on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at 2:00 p.m.

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Linda Faye Burleigh, age 75, on Saturday, June 5, 2021, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Opelousas.

Linda was the owner and operator of Linda's Grocery Store for eleven years which was located between Krotz Springs and Melville.  She previously worked in the pharmacy at Opelousas General Health System and was a medical receptionist at two doctor's offices for many years.

Linda never met a stranger.  She was a fun loving and witty person with a joyful personality.  She loved to have a good time - dancing about, cutting up and joking around with everyone.  She collected old coins, was a wonderful cook and enjoyed sewing.  Linda will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughters, Laurie Quebedeaux and husband, Anthony of Melville, La.; Julie Persick of Melville, La.; her brother, Merrell Burleigh and wife, Patricia of Port Barre, La. and two grandchildren, Shane Hebert, Jr. of Denham Springs, La. and Harlie Persick of Krotz Springs, La.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Burleigh and Olive "Tat" Godeau Burleigh; two grandsons, Eric Cormier and Aaron Quebedeaux; and her nephew, Travis Burleigh.

Pallbearers will be Shane Hebert, Sr., Shane Hebert, Jr., Anthony Quebedeaux and Matthew Nezat.
