Krotz Springs - Funeral services for Joyce Guillory Johnson will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 7, 2020, in the Lafond Ardion Funeral Home Chapel of Krotz Springs.  Bro. Junius Ray Daigle conduct the service.  Graveside services and interment will follow in the First Baptist Church Cemetery in Krotz Springs.

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that Mrs. Joyce Guillory Johnson, age 77, passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2020, at her home in Krotz Springs, LA.

Joyce enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family and friends.  As a pastime, she enjoyed making wreaths, collecting teacups and windchimes, playing Bingo and Pokeno, and going fishing.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Johnnie Johnson of Krotz Springs; three sons, Larry Avila of Florida; Richard "Ricky" Avila and wife, Paula of North Carolina; and Mitchell Johnson and wife, Melissa of Ventress; stepdaughter, Chasitity Xavier and husband, Zach of Tennessee; aunts, Larry June Blanchard of Grosse Tete; and Dorothy Ann Estees of Watson; cousin, Connie Lewis of Grosse Tete; niece, Cindy Spain of Eunice; great-niece, Shanel Fitzgerald Vasseur of Eunice; and great-nephew, Rex Brown of Eunice.  She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence Guillory; mother, Betty Mullins Gibbs and stepfather, Robert "Bob" Gibbs; son, Randy Avila; and two sisters, Betty Browning and Lois Albury.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2020, in the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Krotz Springs from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Mitchell Johnson, Larry Avila, Ricky Avila, Johnathan Zachary, Devin Ferrell, Travis Barker, Dale Ellis, and Chris Baham.
