Elsie Guillory

Opelousas - Funeral services for Elsie Beaumery Guillory will be held on Friday, September 17, 2021, at 2:00pm in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas.  The very Reverend Monsignor Keith J. DeRouen will conduct the funeral service.  Burial will take place at Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 17, 2021, in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas from 9:00 a.m. until time of services.  A Rosary will be prayed on Friday at 1:30pm.

Mrs. Guillory, age 95, a resident of Opelousas, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home.

Elsie was a bookkeeper and notary public for over 70 years.  She was a member of the Opelousas Garden Club and the Alter Society at Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church.  Elsie loved crocheting and enjoyed watching football.  She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her sister, Versie B. Richard of Opelousas, La.; her nieces, Cheryl R. Schlomer of Opelousas, La., Judy Carpenter of Lake Charles, La.; her nephew, David W. Richard (Rhonda) of Opelousas, La.; her great-niece, Brandi R. Marks; her great-nephew, Aaron D. Richard (Aric Mayer); her sister-in-law, Leola Guillory of Lake Charles, La.; her sister-in-law, Betty LaFleur; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray E. Guillory, Sr.; her sons, Ray E. Guillory, Jr. and Craig S. Guillory; her parents, Alex and Idea' Beaumery; her nephew, Jerry Guillory; her brother-in-law, Ewell Guillory; her nephew, Edward Schlomer and her great-nephew, Brad J. Marks.

The family would like to extend special thanks to her loving caregiver and housekeeper, Darlene Fruge; as well as, the staff at Heritage Manor and Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care.
