Opelousas - A Mass of Christian Burial for Eddie Lee Stelly will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, July 8, 2019, in the St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas.  Monsignor Russell Harrington will celebrate the Mass.  Musicians will be Debbie LeBlanc and Phyllis Simar.  Lectors will be Cicely Stelly Theriot and Melissa Foster and gift bearers will be Sydney Smithey and Noah Birke.

Mr. Stelly, age 47, a resident of Opelousas, LA, passed away on Friday, July 5, 2019, at Lafayette General Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

Eddie was a graduate of Opelousas Catholic School and USL where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Science.  He was currently employed at Accurate NDE.  Eddie enjoyed cooking, hunting and spending time with his family.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Beth Massey Stelly; his parents, Dale and Sandra Doyle Stelly; his sons, Luke Stelly, Beau Stelly, Ethan Stelly, Jonah Stelly; his maternal grandmother, Dorothy Leblanc; his sister, Cicely Stelly Theriot and husband, Ned and his Godparents, Barbara Guillory and David Lenn Stelly.

He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Lee and Gerdie Pitre Stelly; his maternal grandfather, Herman "Buddy" Doyle; his step-maternal grandfather, Eddie "Doc" LeBlanc and his dear aunt and uncle, Jessie and Emile "Boo" Dupre.

Pallbearers will be Charles Brignac, Ashton Provost, Clay Armand, Ray Dupre', Jamie Castille, Jackie Stelly and Gabriel "Skippy" Speyrer, Jr.  Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie's sons, Luke Beau, Ethan and Jonah.

Visiting hours will be observed on Sunday, July 7, 2019, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home Parlor in Opelousas.  On Monday, visitation will continue from at 7:00 AM until 9:30 AM.  A rosary will be prayed on Sunday evening at 6:30 PM.
