Washington - A public gathering will be held on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at the Washington Baptist Church (208 E. Dupre Street, Washington, LA) from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  A Memorial Service being held at 6:00 p.m. in the church.  Reverend Louis Charrier will officiate the services.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Delores Jane Richard Morgan, age 84, of Opelousas, La. on Saturday, December 19, 2021.

Delores was a dedicated prayer warrior and was a member of the Washington Baptist Church for many years.  She was a waitress for many years at Seven Flags (now known as King's Truck Stop).  She collected little real coffee pots and old telephones.  She enjoyed crocheting and thrift store shopping.  Most of all she was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be missed dearly.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Gerald F. Morgan of Opelousas; her sons, Bret Morgan of Port Barre, Keith Morgan of Port Barre, Warren Morgan of Opelousas, Gary Morgan and wife, Elizabeth, of Opelousas and Thomas Morgan of Jasper, Georgia; her daughter, Theresa "Sam" Everson Darbonne and husband, Carl, of Opelousas; her brothers, Andrew "Sonny" Richard and wife, Judy, of Alabama, Robert Richard and wife, Patricia "Pat" of Scott, and her sisters, Jeanette McCue of San Antonio, TX and Elizabeth Moreau of Alabama.  She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, Nicholas Shane Morgan, Gary Neil Morgan, Jr., Kristen Sonnier, Kristopher Sonnier, Kevin Briscoe, Jr., Amanda Briscoe Doucet, Kara Coltrin, Chastain Wright, Carl "C.J." Darbonne, Jr., Sierra Sonnier and fifteen great-grandchildren, Devin Briscoe, Abby Doucet, Lane Doucet, Presley Stelly, Beckham Sonnier, Delaney Sonnier, Anaston Morgan, Cruz Morgan, Stephanie Morgan, Chayse Procell, Brantley Sonnier, Marley Sonnier, Noah Sonnier, Asher Benoit and Wallace Wright.

Delores was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Richard and Anna Belle Brown Richard; her son, James Pritchard; her daughter, Linda Pritchard Briscoe; her grandson-in-law, Corey Doucet and her sisters, Bessie Deadman and Sandra Callahan.

Pallbearers will be Nick Morgan, Carl Darbonne, Carl "C. J." Darbonne, Jr., Kevin Briscoe, Tate Sonnier, and Gary Morgan. Honorary pallbearer will be Neil Morgan.
