Opelousas – A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 for Donald Williams in the Skip Montet Chapel at LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas. Jim Blazevich and Kenneth Crow will celebrate the service.
Visitation will be held at LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 from 11:30 a.m. until the time of services.
Donald Williams, age 83 and a resident of Krotz Springs, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2019 at his residence.
Donald honorably served his country in the United States Army. He loved watching sports, especially the LSU Tigers. He was a talented carpenter and he also enjoyed bowling, table pool and going to the casino. Donald was a girls’ softball coach and he played on the Krotz Springs Softball Team “Hustler”. He served as a Town Alderman for 25 years. Above all, he was a loving husband, father and grandfather, who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Ethel Richard Williams; daughters, Bonnie Cordeirro-Williams Blazevich and her husband, Jim, Connie Williams Pitre and her husband, Phillip and Donnie Williams; grandchildren, Jude Meche, Christopher Meche and his wife, Kali, Danielle Meche Courtney and her husband, Zach, Dylan O’Brien and his wife, Michelle; and great-grandchildren, Gabriel Meche and Colin O’Brien.
He was preceded in death by grandson, Dustin O’Brien; parents, Robert and Lovenia Williams; five brothers; and two sisters.
